Fun in the Sun

We had an awesome day today at my parent's house swimming and relaxing by the pool. Tristan even got to try out the water which was a very cold 80 degrees. I figured he would not like it because it was so cold but he loved it! It did not seem to phase him one bit. I guess all those fat rolls are good insulation! haha. Here are some pictures from today.

He liked his floatie!

Isn't he adorable in his swimming gear? The clothes and the hat have UV protection in it but I made sure to spray him down with 70SPF too.

Cold!!

Fence

I realized that I forgot to put the finished pictures of the fence up on the blog. We decided to pay someone to stain it because we didn't want to mess it up. I am very happy with the way it turned out. It was a lot of hard work but we saved thousands doing it ourselves!

Ignore the trash bins...it was trash day

My doggie and me!

Tristan has been so aware of Maggie lately. He looks down at her all the time, smiles at her, and he tries to reach out and grab her hair. Maggie is very tolerant of him and seems to enjoy his attention. She still gets a little too excited about him sometimes but she is getting better. I think they will be best buds when Tristan gets a little older. She is such a good dog.

Tristan does not enjoy Maggie's wet willies..

That's a big foot...

Getting so big!!

Tristan is getting so big! He seems to change so much every week. He loves his veggies although we finally found something he wasn't crazy about and that was carrots! He made some horrible faces and there was even some gagging. Oh well hopefully they will grow on him! He does love bananas though!! He cannot get enough of them. He has decided that he will not sleep on his back anymore. This made me really nervous at first and I kept waking him up and rolling him back. After talking to the pediatrician I realized i was fighting a losing battle and I am letting him stay there. He does sleep very sound on his tummy however and maybe his bald spot will fill back in! haha. He loves to drink water out of our cups too! we have been trying a sippy cup but he is not exactly getting the fact that he has to tip it back to get the water out. I am sure he will get it soon. It is definitely a lot more challenging to take him with us to go out to eat. He wants everything we are eating and he gets really pissed that we won't give it to him.. haha!

What do i do with this thing?

6 month check up!

We went for Tristan's sixth month check up today. He weighed in at 18lbs and 12oz (75%). What a chunk! He is 27 inches long (60%). He is completely healthy and Dr. B was very happy. His hernia has completely gone away and he thought his head looked great. He was very happy and bubbly the whole time we were there. It was so sad this time when he got his shots because he sounded so pitiful when he was crying but as soon as they were over I swooped him up and he was happy again and even smiled at the nurses. They loved him! He has been rolling and moving around like crazy! Here are some videos from the past week.

6 months old!

Tristan is is 6 months old! I can't believe how fast half a year goes by! It makes me scared how fast time goes by because I know soon he will be a big boy. Tristan is so strong and is quite a ham! He loves to smile at everyone he meets. He has mastered rolling both ways. He has become quite the mover in the past week. He flips around in his crib, blows raspberries, gets his legs stuck, blows raspberries, rolls, and falls asleep on his belly (then i have to sneak in there and roll him on his back). He is constantly kicking his legs and jumping on our laps. He has still not mastered sitting because he won't stay in one place long enough! haha. He loves to eat! Green beans are his favorite so far although we have only tried squash and green beans. He is going to try sweet potatoes today so we will see how that goes. He is so good now with his naps. When I lay him down he usually falls to sleep within a few minutes. Although I am glad he has learned to fall asleep indepently I miss the days when I had to rock him to sleep. He also sleeps at night from around 7pm to 7am! Do we not have the best baby ever?? We are still nursing. He is super fast now and usually eats in 10-15 minutes. I never expected to nurse this long but it is working so well for us I think I will try to do it for a year. I have been putting formula in his rice cereal just in case we ever need to supplement that way he is used to it. We go in for his 6 month check up on Wednesday so I will post his "stats" on here then. I also took some video of him rolling around so I will try to get that up ASAP!

We love this boy!!!

Veggies!

Here are some videos of Tristan eating veggies! He wasn't sure about the squash the first day but now he loves it. We tried green beans tonight and I was expecting the same reaction but he loved them! I thought they smelled much worse than the squash! haha!

Jogging Day 2

Today was day 2 of my jogging! I used the jogging stroller today and it made a world of difference! It was so much more enjoyable! I have decided to do the Liberty by the Lake 5k run on July 4th. The money benefits the Christian Community Action. That will be the final week of the program and hopefully I will be able to run the whole thing. My mom is also doing the c25k program so she is going to run it with me! I think it will be so fun! Atleast we get a cute t-shirt!

Ready to roll!

C25K

I have started this program called C25k. For those of you who have not heard of it it is basically an integral training program of walking and running. It slowly goes up in intensity over 9 weeks. By the end of 9 weeks you should be able to run a 5k (about 3 miles). I have the application om my iphone so it tells me automatically when to walk and when to run (while my music plays in the background). After I am done with each part it uploads to my facebook page so I have some accountability. I don't know if I will ever really be a "runner" but I thought it might help get the extra few pounds off. Who knows maybe I will learn to love it. I already walk 3 miles anyways so the walking part is easy so far but the first day i went I had the travel system stroller and it was quite heavy and hard to push. I decided if I was ever going to be good at it I needed a jogging stroller. I ended up getting this one below at Babies R Us. It was the floor model so they gave it to me for 25% off. I really wanted one with an optional swivel wheel (for the winding trail by the lake) and with bike tires because they move so much better than rubber tires. The swivel wheel can be locked or unlocked from the handlebars. This one also has a built in tire pump and a reclining seat. I can't wait to start using it tomorrow.

These are my new running shoes! I went to Run On and got them fitted for me.

Tristan really liked trying it out in the house. I think he thought it was pretty comfy.
