I know I have been a total blogging slacker lately! So sorry! Luckily, I have a good reason! My photography business has been booming!! Everyone is trying to get in those last minute family sessions so it has been a little crazy! I have been so blessed and have done so well in my first actual month of business! Tristan also turned ONE on the sixteenth. Can you believe he is already one? Where does the time go?! He is so much fun and we love him more and more everyday. We took him to the doctor for his one year check up and here are his stats:
Weight: 22lbs and 12 oz (50%)
Height: 31 1/4inches (85%)
Head Size: 48 1/2cm (96%)
What can we say.. he has a lot of brains =). Developmentally he is between 14 - 18 months and Dr. B was very happy with his progress. We ditched the bottle about a month ago and he has done great switching to all sippy cups. Here are some things he loves to do:
*He gives high fives
*He loves to point and touch his finger tip with yours
*Everything he touches he has to attempt to drive it around and make a motor sound
*He is standing unassisted but not walking yet
*He says Mama, Dadda, Nana, uh oh, and a few other things that resemble words =)
*he is very helpful and will turn off light switches and pick things up off the floor and hand them to us.
*He loves cheerios
*He loves to play peek a book and will squat down and hide behind things
*He loves bathtime and reading books
*He sleeps with a stuffed giraffe and a small blanket and he tucks the giraffe under his arm
*He tries to feed people his food and he likes to brush daddy's hair
*He is not scared of anything or anyone and is the most social baby I have ever seen
He is so awesome and fun! Can you tell we are completely in love with him?? =) It has been a wonderful year! I am working on a birthday slideshow right now and hopefully I will have that posted in the next few days.

Sorry!
It has been so long since I posted! We have been so busy around here! I went on a 4 day photography excursion which you can read about here. It was a blast but of course I missed Tristan way too much! =) Tristan is getting to be such a big boy and I can't believe he will be turning one in a few weeks. We are preparing for his party which will be just family (didn't want to have a big flu party =P). He does new things everyday! We have gotten rid of the bottles and he is drinking from sippy cups all the time now! woo hoo.. I am so glad we did this early. He loves to play play play. He is a lightening fast crawler although he is walking around holding onto the furniture now. He likes to wave and play peek a boo with us. He absolutely loves books and will crawl over to his bookshelf, pull one out and bring it to us. He will sit while we read the whole book (as long as we turn the pages somewhat quickly). Oh and EVERYTHING has a motor. He will grab anything and then we will hear "burrrrrrrr vrrrrrrrrrrr". I will have to catch it on video here soon. He loves to go to the park and swing. He helps us by turning off light switches and pulling the drain in the bathtub =P. He is so much fun and we love him so much! I will post pictures and video soon.. I promise!

What's been going on...
Well I have been very busy launching my photography business. It is going well and I have been busy booking sessions! I am excited to finally get everything up and running! Tristan didn't have a very fun week though. We had a little bit of a scare because his sitter found out that her daughter had the H1N1 flu. She has limited contact with Tristan but we were still very nervous about him getting it so he stayed home all week. On Thursday he started to run a fever so we took him right away to the pediatrician. Luckily, he was negative for the flu but he did have his first ear infection. We were so happy it was just an ear infection! whew! I think it is going to be a long cold season. He is feeling much better now though. He weighed a whooping 23lbs! What a big guy. He has been all over the place exploring every inch of the house. He also is pulling himself up and letting go of things now. yikes! Here are a few pictures from the week.

Time to kick back and relax
It has been raining here and when you run out of things to do what is more fun than re-enacting favorite scenes from movies =) enjoy...

10 months old and Mexico Trip

Tristan turned 10 months old last week! He is such a happy little guy! He has learned to do a lot of new things this last month including standing up in his crib at 2am, getting into a sitting position by himself, waving, kneeling, cruising on furniture, and he shakes his head no. He also loves to say Momma and Dadda which we love too! He is one active little boy. He loves to walk everywhere (with assistance) and he is not scared of anything!! He loves to give us kisses and hugs. We are so blessed to have him as a son!
We had a wonderful time in Mexico! Playa was beautiful and I can't wait to go back! Tristan loved playing in the sand and the water. He was not scared of the waves. In fact he wanted to run towards them. He loves to get splashed in the face by water. My parents went with us and I think we will never travel without family again. We got to go on some date night dinners which was nice. I took too many pictures to post on here so you can check some of them out here.
Attention: Babies need to be on the lookout there is a paci hoarder in town!
We also keep lots of extra pacis in Tristan's crib so he can find one when he wakes up and this is what we find. Two pacis shoved away for safe keeping.

In other news, I have been very busy putting the final touches on my photography website and I hope to have it posted by the weekend. I have two photo shoots this weekend and I am very excited!

Sick Baby Blues
We had a sick little boy at our house this weekend. It all started with Tristan getting his flu shot on Saturday. A few hours after that his nose was running and he had congestion. All day Sunday we were trying to keep his fever down which spiked to a very scary 103 degrees! He enjoyed multiple baths to help with his fever. He was very fussy and clingy and you could tell he didn't feel good because he wasn't his normal happy self. Today Shannon stayed home with him and his fever was much lower. He is still a little fussy but he is getting better. We are dreading going back for the second dose of his flu shot. Hopefully he won't have the same reaction. We feel so lucky that he hasn't been sick at all since he was 7 weeks old because it is no fun!! Although we did enjoy all of the hugs...

Today he was feeling much better and he was much happier! Hopefully is on the mend since we are leaving for Mexico on Thursday!
On Saturday I also went to a Photography workshop. It was really good and I learned a lot. Unfortunately we didn't get to go out and shoot afterwards like they planned because it was pouring. I am going to be going on a weekend long photography excursion in October with them and I am so excited!! I had to cancel a family shoot I was going to do on Sunday because of the rain but I am doing a newborn shoot on Wednesday and I am excited to put my new knowledge to use.

First photo shoot with new camera!
Labor Day Weekend!
We had a long and fun relaxing weekend! The best thing that happened is that I got a new camera and I love it! It is a little more professional grade because I am working on a side photography business. I have a few upcoming workshops and I am working on building my portfolio now so I will let ya'll know when I am up and running!! I have wanted to do this forever and I am excited to get the ball rolling! So let me know if you would like to be models!! My goal is that I might be able to work a little less during the week. We will see! Here are a few pictures from the weekend...
