Fossil Rim

Today we spent the day at Fossil Rim which is a drive thru wildlife park in Glen Rose, TX. The weather was so beautiful and it was the first time Tristan has spent a lot of time outside. We had a blast. The animals were out in full force since the weather was so nice.

Weekend Fun...

We had a fun weekend! We went and hung out at my parents house on saturday and then today my mom, my sister, and I went shopping today for some more clothes for Tristan. He is about to outgrow is 0-3 month clothes so I had to go get the next size up. We went to the Carter's outlet at the Allen outlet mall and we got a ton of good stuff. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Aren't these sunglasses funny? Not really needed but so cute!

Cool dude!

Sleeping all night!!

Well I hate to even post it because I don't want to jinx it but Tristan has slept all night in his crib the last 3 nights!! The first night he did it was after he got his shots so I thought it was a fluke but he has slept the next two nights too. I am so excited since i am back at work and sleep is a must for me. 7 hours feels like the longest sleep ever after going two months with 2-4 hours increments. I am trying to get better about not checking on him all the time. The second night that he slept I actually set my phone alarm for 3am to go check on him! That was a big mistake because I could not go back to sleep. Needless to say I will not be doing that anymore! We did buy a video monitor so atleast if I wake up I can look over at my nightstand and see if he is still ok. I know... I am spoiled but that monitor has been priceless! After sleeping all night, he is all smiles in the morning. I caught a few pictures below. Again, they are from my iphone so not the best quality but they work. I will try to catch some with my SLR soon.

Tummy time at Mimi's house...

Smiles! Yay.. mommy finally fed me after sleeping all night!

Since a few people expecting babies have asked me.. here are the things we could not live without the first two months:

1. Diaper Genie this thing is a god send!
2. Boppy - great for breastfeeding, baby sitting up, and tummy time
3. Bouncy Seat - the only chair Tristan would take naps in!
4. Video Monitor - ok I could have lived without this but i wouldn't want to!
5. Bottle warmer - Shannon loves this thing for when he watches Tristan, it is so easy to use and warms the bottle in the same time it takes for him to change his diaper and come back.
6. And finally... ambiant noise machine - this puts babies to sleep in a flash

Two Month Check Up

Tristan went for his two month check up today. He weighed in at 11lbs and 12oz! He was in the 60th percentile for his head size, 50% for weight and 80% for height. The doctor was very impressed with this since he was 3 weeks early. He was also impressed that I am back at work and still breastfeeding/pumping. I am going to try to keep this up as long as possible. I am lucky I work somewhere so accepting of this. I like pumping at work because it makes me feel like I am doing something important for him while I am away. Going back to work has been tough but it has also been fun to hang out with my friends and see all of my patients again. Having my own baby makes being an OB sonographer even more special to me. And now I have something to talk about all day! My mom has enjoyed watching him while I am work. She sends me pictures and updates every few hours. I am spoiled having a NICU nurse watching my baby! I am still off on Wednesdays which is nice because I can spend all day playing with Tristan and napping with him too! I am still waiting for him to sleep longer at night. So far he won't go longer than a 4 hour stretch. =/

Holding my head up like a big boy!!

silly boy

We think Tristan wants to be a doctor. He grabbed the tongue depressor and wouldn't let go!

ouchie.. the shots were no fun =(

I think I will keep this...

Two Months Old

Here is Tristan taking a bath in my mom's sink. He loves it so much! He was so funny. He kept his little toes up on the edge of the sink.

He loves to look at his books...
