Monkeying Around

Here is what has been going on the last few days...

Tristan loves this monkey rug. Every time I leave the playroom and come back he is rubbing his face on it or rolling around with it. When I came back this time he had rolled with it and he was crawling around with it on his back. He is so silly!

We bought a swing to hang from one of our trees in the front yard. Tristan loves it so much! He laughs and smiles and hates to get out of it. Here are some pictures from the first time he got to swing.

Expanding our diet!

Tristan has been trying all kinds of new foods lately and is getting some use out of his 4 teeth! He was not too crazy about the Stage 3 dinner foods so we just skipped right to some table foods although I still give him some stage 2 foods when he is at the sitters house or if we don't have anything to give him. So far he loves some of the gerber snacks, peeled grapes, gerber turkey sticks (yuck!), pieces of bread and lunch meat and just about anything else you can stick in his mouth! We haven't tried any dairy products yet because our pedi recommends hold off on that until 1 year old. He loves to try anything we are eating although he does have a high gag reflex like his momma! He is so messy too and Maggie is loving the scraps of food he throws off!

Getting around part II

Tristan had a big week this past week. He figured out how to crawl and went from not moving to getting around all over the house. We have already had to remove more items from our house =P. He also has been pulling up on everything. I left him in the playroom for a minute and when i came back in he was standing! ah! That scared me to death! And last but not least he has two more teeth coming in on top at that same time. This had made for a very fussy and temperamental baby! I will be glad when they are in so he will be his normal self again although I have enjoyed all of the extra cuddles! I keep telling him he doesn't have to do everything in one week! Tristan spent the night with my parents on Friday and my mom took these pictures below... he sure was getting around their house!

Tristan has been pulling himself around on the floor for a little while now but now the knees are getting involved. Here is a little snippet of him crawling tonight. He is going to be all over the place in a few days!

World's Longest Post!

Sorry it has been so long since I updated! We have been so busy! Here is what has been going on lately...


On Friday I went out with some of my girlfriends to dinner and a movie. There were even some delicious margaritas involved!

On Saturday night we went to a party for my brother-in-law who just graduated with his MBA. His half-brother Silas came up from Houston. He is 6 months old and so adorable and petite! Tristan looked like a giant next to him. They had a lot of fun playing together.

I have had a blast hanging out with my sister this summer. It is time for her to start teaching again. =( Tristan and I will miss hanging out with her. I can't wait until next summer! This is Tristan's new activity table (his desk =)). He loves this thing!

Last but not least Shannon put together the garden this weekend (I helped a little when I could). This thing was quite an ordeal. On the manual it says "Will take two moderately skilled people 6-8 hours to assemble)." Yikes! It looks so good assembled though! He also moved the storage shed, which was where the garden is now, to the side of the house. It looks so much better over there. We can't wait until next spring so we can have veggies. We are just going to plant some herbs right now.
