9 Month Check-Up!

Tristan will be 9 months old on Sunday! I can't believe how fast time has flown by! We took Tristan for his 9 month check-up today. Here are his stats:
Weight: 20lbs and 13oz (55%)
Height: 29 1/2" (85%)

What a big guy! He is really working on crawling (he is doing it in his sleep too!). He has been pushing up on all fours and rocking forward. He has also been pulling himself up on some of his toys. He jabbers like crazy mostly saying DaDa (yes, I am still waiting for a Momma). He is such an amazing little boy and we are so blessed to have him as a son. I still look at him with amazement that he is actually ours! I wish time would go a little slower but I am excited to see him grow up too. This month we get to start meats! He had his first taste of turkey tonight and he liked it. He is constantly moving! He is such an active little boy!
Which brings me to other news. After, 9 months of exclusively breastfeeding or receiving breastmilk Tristan has become very uninterested in nursing. It started about two weeks ago. He will push off of me, try to roll away, try to sit up, bite me (ouch!), and do anything to avoid nursing. My supply has gone way down since he won't nurse longer than about 2 minutes so I had to start giving him some formula to supplement (I am pretty sure he was losing weight). He is doing well with the formula since I have been putting it in his rice cereal all along. On one hand I am really proud that I was able to nurse him for 9 months (especially since I am a working mom which meant a lot of pumping.. blah!) but I am also so sad that it is coming to an end. I have had several good cries about it but I know it has to end sometime. My husband has been very nice and supportive even though he probably thinks I am losing it! =P I have a pretty good frozen supply which will let me add some breastmilk to his bottles for another few weeks. I am so glad we didn't use formula all along, it is expensive, stains everything, and it smells horrible! I never thought I would be such an advocate for breastfeeding but it was great for us. I believe it kept Tristan healthy and it helped me lose all of my pregnancy weight (60lbs!!). He has been doing really well at his home daycare. He loves watching the older kids play. The other kids even nicknamed him Squishie (thanks to his thighs).
We love you Tristan! Thank you for blessing our life for these first nine months!

Yikes! I'm so far behind in posts, I forgot it doesn't come up in my "Reader" now that it's private! You should be VERY proud of yourself for keeping it up for nine months. I don't think I could have done it if I worked outside of the house. Congrats!
